Our joint venture with Parade Magazine launched in May, 2009. Numbrix is a game created by Marilyn vos Savant, who has been writing the Ask Marilyn column in the weekly magazine since 1986. Now Numbrix is available as an iPhone/iPod Touch app in the iTunes App Store.
The game comes with over 200 puzzles that you can play immediately, and you will automatically receive new puzzle updates when either your iPhone or iPod Touch is connected to the Internet. There are three levels of difficulty available, providing puzzles for both the Numbrix beginner or expert.
Numbrix was a “Featured App” on Apple’s iTunes App Store during July. It was our fourth such high profile recognition for Numbrix. We were in the New and Noteworthy section for the month of July. We were also picked for the UK and Australian Staff Favourites for the week of July 5th-11th, and we were listed as one of the top number games in the App Store.

Following up on the success of Numbrix for iPhone, we approached Parade Publications about the possibility of creating a “social” version of Numbrix. We felt that the best way to extend awareness of Numbrix beyond print media and beyond the iPhone was to make a version of the game that was playable on virtually every computing device in existence, and to make sure that players could spread the word about Numbrix by sharing the game with each other. We built the game on top of the Clearspring widget platform using Flash, which made it possible to create one version of the game that works in over 25 environments, including Facebook, MySpace, iGoogle, OS X Dashboard, Windows, and many others.
Numbrix for Social Networks has become tremendously popular online, surpassing over 1 million game plays in just three months. Parade decided to adopt our version of the game as the version that is presented on Parade.com, and has also started syndicating the game on newspaper web sites all over the United States, including most recently the Washington Post.
